SUMMARY

OF THE JULY 11, 2018, CATEGORY 1, PUBLIC TELECONFERENCE TO DISCUSS NUSCALE POWER LLCS RESPONSES REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION NOS. 8848, 9091, 8873, 8944, 8872, 9104, 8867, AND 8831 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a Category 1 public teleconference on July 11, 2018, to discuss the NuScale Power, LLC (NuScale) request for additional information responses pertaining to the NRC staffs review of NuScales Stability Topical Report (TR)-0516-49417. Participants included personnel from NuScale. No members of the general public participated via bridgeline during the meeting.

The public meeting notice dated June 25, 2018, can be found in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management Systems under Accession No. ML18176A297. This meeting notice was also posted on the NRC public website.

U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION CATEGORY 1 PUBLIC TELECONFERENCE TO DISCUSS NUSCALE POWER LLCS REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION RESPONSES On July 11, 2018, a public teleconference meeting was held to discuss the status of several requests for additional information (RAIs) issued as part of U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs review of NuScales Stability Topical Report (TR)-0516-49417. The purpose of the meeting was to propose and consider actions that could close and resolve open issues associated with the eight RAIs: 8848, 9091, 8873, 8944, 8872, 9104, 8867, and 8831. In preparation for the meeting, NRC provided draft conditions and limitations that, with further development, could resolve staffs concerns and allow closure of the RAIs.

During the meeting, rational for each of the proposed conditions and limitations was discussed, in addition to alternative actions that could potentially resolve issues and close the aforementioned RAIs.

In summary, for five RAIs (RAI Nos. 9091, 8873, 8944, 9104, and 8867) the applicant proposes to revise the stability TR for each RAIs. The applicant concurs with conditions and limitations proposed by the NRC staff for two RAIs, RAI Nos. 8848 and 8872. Proposed action and subsequent resolution of RAI No. 8831 will be deferred until review and resolution of RAI Nos.
