SUMMARY
FOR THE REGULATORY AUDIT OF THE NUSCALE POWER, LLC DESIGN CERTIFICATION APPLICATION, CHAPTER 15, TRANSIENT AND ACCIDENT ANALYSIS The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted an audit started on January 10, 2019, and ending on December 18, 2019, to review the NuScale Power, LLC.,
Design Certification Application (DCA), Tier 2, Chapter 15, Transient and Accident Analysis.
Specifically, this regulatory audit was to clarify the NRC staffs understanding of the requests for additional information (RAIs) responses and the associated analyses, to gain a better understanding of changes to calculations or information that supports the DCA resulting from the transition to NRELAP5 Version 1.4, and to fully comprehend the new and changed calculations and information to ensure it supported the applicants docketed conclusions. The audit was held at the NRC headquarters via NuScales electronic reading room, telephone, and at NuScales offices in Rockville, Maryland, and Corvallis, Oregon.
The enclosed audit summary describes the content of the review, identifies the audit participants, and documents the audit observations.
