Dear !!r. Ruch:

Re: Farley ?!uclear P1 ant liPDES Permi t f!o. AL 0024619 In accordance with Part II .A.2 of the referenced permit, we are submitting a non-compliance that occurred as indicated by analysis performed on June 7,1979, for the turbine building sump effluent (Discharge Point 004). Analysis of the effluent showed a pH value of 9.13. Approximately 10,550 gallons -

of this waste water was discharged after being diluted with 145,100 gallons of once through cooling water.

The cause for this non-compliance was an error in sampling and analysis prior to the discharge. Steps have been taken to insure that this violation does not recur.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Yours very truly, ._
