Alabama Power Company 600 North 18th Street Post Office Box 2641 Birmingham Alabama 35291 Telephone 205 323-5341 hbo'%7?isni Alabama Power July 17, 1980 Docket No.'50-364 Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C. 20555 Attention: Mr. A. Schwencer Re: Letter from Mr. F. L. Clayton, Jr., to Mr. J. P. O'Reilly Dated March 13, 1980 Gentlemen:

Alabama Power Company's response to I.E. Bulletin 79-27, Loss of Non-Class 1E Instrumentation and Control Power System Bus During Operation, was provided, for Farley Nuclear Plant Unit 1, in the above referenced letter. As requested by the NRC Staff, the following is Alabama Power Company's response to the above Bulletin for Farley Unit 2:

The power supplies for instrumentation and control systems for Farley Nuclear Plants Units 1 and 2 are essentially identical.

It is, therefore, our intent to resolve this matter on Unit 2 by following the Unit I resolution (i.e., Procedures will be revised, prior to initial fuel loading, to specifically reflect annunciation and automatic control functions effected under loss of inverter condi tions) .

If you have any questions, please advise, Yours very truly, '
