SMUD NEGOTIATIONS WITH DUKE POWER COMPANY SMUD released information on April 29, 1988 concerning a potential agreement with the Duke Power Company. The potential agreement will be' discussed by the SMUD Board of Directors at a May 9, 1988 meeting.
Under the proposal:
(1) A Duke Power Company employee would become the Chief Executive Officer, Nuclear, reporting to a new Rancho Seco management comittee.
(2) Tha new 5-member comittee would be appointed by the SMUD Board.
(3) A new Duke subsidiary would make Duke personnel available for assignment to
. Rancho Seco as needed.
(4) Duke would receive 6 fee for its services. ,
The agreement is still preliminary., but SMUD h:.s released this information in view of local media and employee interest.
