RESTART OF RANCHO SEC0 The Sacramento Municipal Utility District received final authorization from NRR to restart Rancho Seco at 7:04 A.M. PST, March 30, 1988. The Enhanced Operational Readiness Inspection Team, and the resident inspection staff, are observing the reactor startup, which comenced at 7:40 A.M. PST. SMUD expects the startup to require between six and ten hours to complete. Following the startup, Rancho Seco will remain at low power for seven days of lov power testing and crew training, There is extensive media interest in the startup, and the Regional Public Affairs Officer is onsite.
