EVACUATION ROUTE IMPASSIDLE As a result of severe weather and heavy rains, a bridge located on Highway 61

.approximately 7-8 miles North of Grand Gulf was washed out. The damage to thli bridge hn rundered Highway 61 impassible as an evacuation route for the population around the plant. The licensee will be issuing a press release tcday to inform the public of alternate evacuation routes until the bridoc is repaired. At this time, it is unknown when repairs will be completed.

The State of Mississippi and the local Civil Defense have been notified by the licensea. In addition. the FFMA RP0 inn IV offica has been informed.

The NRC Resident Inspector received initial information of this event on 3/29/91 This information is current as of 1:00 p.m. on 3/29/91.
