UNPLANNED REACTOR TRIP About 2:10 p.m., June 2, 1936, the reactor scrammed from full power. The scram was apparently due to a trip of the main turbine due to loss of turbine electrohydraulic control (EHC) oil during secondary plant electrical power sJDply switching. Plant response to the trip was normal. The resident inspectors are following up on-site, and will evaluate licensee investigations and post-trip reviews.
This PN is issued for information only due to expected public and media interest. Some l members of the public, who heard the steam generator relief valve actuations associated with the scram, called the resident inspector's office within a few minutes of the event. The licensee has responded to media inquiries. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has been informed.
