DRUG TESTING AT TMI (UPDATE)

Media interest in the licensee's drug investigation has been expanded to include television networks and news wire services. Because the investigation is still ongoing, the licensee is not releasing details to the media or public.

Region I and NRC Headquarters Public Affairs are responding to media inquires.

The original Preliminary Notification, issued June 1,1987, contained a typographical error, in that it indicated the licensee had notified Region I on March 19, 1987 of the drug investigation. The actual date of notification was May 19, 1987.

This PN is issued for information only. NRC Region I will continue to follow the '

licensee's investigation. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has been notified.
