Enclosed for your information is Seismic Monitoring Quarterly Report Number 11 for the CEI operated Micro-net, which is monitoring an area in the vicinity of two waste injection wells located 3 miles south of the PNPP site. This report provides data and event analysis for the time period between April 1, 1989 and June 30, 1989. Also incorporated is information related to the installation of an additional temporary sixth station named GEN (for Geneva). ,

i Monitoring Results .

This quarter experienced very little microseismicity, limited to two events with one event on May 30, 1989 (Mc= -0.4) within the corridor and a second event on June 15, 1989 (Mc= -0.4) near ? airport Ha:bor outside of the corridor. Depths of these events remain at approximately 2 km.

Addition of Sixth Monitoring Station As noted in the last quarterly, CEl has been pursuing the addition of a sixth. t

station (GEN) in the northeastern most portion of the corridor in Ashtabula County. This temporary station installation was completed in this quarter and the station integrated into the system at the end of June. With the addition of the station CEl vill improve the hypocentral location of any future events near Madison-on-tne-Lake which experienced a magnitude Mc= 2.4 on December 15, 1988.
