SUBJECT:

TESTING TO SATISFY BRANCH TECHNICAL POSITION 5-1 FOR WESTINGHOUSE PWRS By memorandum dated September 26, 1984, you requested a survey of Westinghouse plants that were issued an operating license after January 1,1979, te determine their compliance with RSB 5-1 natural circulation test criterion as stated in Cartion 5 of their SERs. Enclosed are the results of that survey for plants in LB 1-4.

Individual project managers should be contacted for review of any test results and/or comparisons that are already submitted.

If 'a plant needs to do more to demonstrate compliance with RSB 5-1 natural cir-culation test criterion, we recommend that only a comparison with the Diablo Canyon test be required.

McGuire 1 (2) 4 natural circulation tests have been performed.

Summer Test comparison submitted 8/84.

Callaway 1 Commitment to make a comparison with Diablo Canyon 1 test results.

Byron 1 Commitment to make a comparison with Diablo Canyon 1 test results.

Catawba 1 No commitment; however, a Duke Power Co. plant like McGuire 1 (2).
