CONTROL OF HEAVY LOADS - PHASE !! - NUREG-0612 -

DIABLO CANYON UNIT 2 Enclosed are two copies of a draf t technical evaluation report (TER) for Diablo Canyon Unit 2 which was developed based on the applicant's response to Section 5.1.2 through 5.1.6 of the December P2,1980 generic letter on " Control of Heavy loads" (Phase !!). This draf t TER was prepared by EG&G Idaho, Inc.

(EG1G) under a technical assistance contract to the NRC. We request that you forward a copy of the draf t TER to the applicant for his review and comment.

We request, further, that af ter a review period of about four weeks, a con-ference call be arranged with the applicant to resolve open items listed in the draft TER. A representative of EG&G Idaho will participata in the con-forence call.

We intend to issue a safety evaluation report on this subject which will be based upon the final TER to to issued by EG&G af ter a conference call and resolution of the remaining concerns.
