A report prepared by a Utility Advisor Evaluation Team regarding the qualification and training of the Shift Advisors at Diablo Canyon is enclosed as Enclosure 1. is a report on the Diablo Canyon Shift Advisor progran prepared by an NRC Evaluation Team. Both reports are recommended as j

board notification items.

i The reports address the qualifications of the individuals selected by Pacific 4

Gas and Electric Co. to provide advice to the operating shifts and the 1

adequacy of the training program provided by the licensee te assure that i

i these individuals are properly knowledgeable about the Diablo Canyon plant.

f Both reports conclude that the Shift Advisors are adequately qualified.

1 The subject of Shift Adviscrs is discussed in Supplements 10 and 12 to the Diablo Canyon SER and was the subject of specific interest by the Comissioners during their recent consideration of a low power license for Diablo Canyon. To my knowledge, qualifications of Shift Advisors was not an
