Attachment to AECM-81/118 Page 1 of 1 STATUS REPORT t'O. 9 TO PRD-79/05 I. Description of the Deficiency A deficiency was discovered in t'.e Power Generation Control Complex (PGCC) panels, in tha* the "as shipped" panels do not match the "as shipped" drawings. The PGCC ranels were supplied by the General Electric Company. Thir defic .ency applied to Unit 1 only.

II. Approach to Resolution of the Problem The delivered hardware was compared to design documentation, and discrepancies were corrected through the NSSS vendor's Field Deviation Disposition Request (FDDR) procedure. Actions to prevent recurrence were taken by the NSSS vendor to incorporate checklists in the design records file, change the drawing control procedures, and change the

' inspection instructions.

III. Status of Proposed Resolution The NSSS vendor has cocpleted their corrective actions. Our Constructor issued an audit item on the actions to prevent recurrence during an audit in 9/80. This item was not closed out until an audit in February, 1981.

IV. Reason Why A Final Report Will Be Delayed MP&L has t:ot yet determined whether we agree with GE's determination that this item is not reportable under 10CFR50.55(e). We are presently evaluating the deficiency to determine whether this deficiency, had it remained uncorrected, could have affected the safe operation of the plant.

'V. Date When A Final Report Will Be Submitted We expect to submit our final report on this matter by May 21, 1981.
