Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-416/417 File 0260/15525/15526 PRD-80/39, Status Report, ITE Imperial Incorrect Crimping AECM-80/177 On July 31, 1980, Mississippi Power & Light notified Mr. R.
Wright of your office of a Potentially Reportable Deficiency (PRD) at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station construction site. The defi-ciency concerns incorrectly vendor crimped control circuitry ter-minations in the ESF 4.16 kv bus.
Our investigation into this matter is not complete. Preli-minary indications are that the condition would not adversely affect the safety of operations of the plant since there would-be no loss of power. However, due to the nature of the deficiency the scope of our investigation is being expanded to include other equipment supplied by ITE Imperial for Grand Gulf.
