Page 1 of 1 Docket No. 50-338 Report No. LER 79-131/03L-0 Description of Event On September 26, 1979, with the unit in hot shutdown, Emergency Diesel Generator 1H was manually started to verify operability. During the test the diesel genera-tor tripped after 30 seconds. This event is contrary to T.S. 3.8.1.1.b. and re-portable pursuant to T.S. 6.9 1.9.b.

Probable Consequences of Occurrence The consequences of this event were minimal because the diesel generator was immediately restarted and proper operation was observed. As a result, the health and safety of the general public were not affected. No generic impli-cations exist for this event.

Cause of Occurrence The diesel generator trip is suspected to have resulted from an accumulation of air in the fuel filter.

Immediate Corrective Action The 1H Diesel Generator was satisfactorily restarted and demonstrated operable.

Scheduled Corrective Action To be determined by the investigation.

Actions Taken to Prevent Recurrence Further investigation will be performed to determine the actions necessary to eliminate air from accumulating in the fuel filter.
