Groundwater Investigation - Phase 2A Well Status Entergy has three drilling teams on site to continue the phase 2A wells that are being installed to help characterize the extent and direction of movement of Strontium contamination from Unit 1.

  • Unit 1 demineralizer system continues operation to remove Sr-90 from spent fuel pool Indian Point Security Indian Point Energy Center remains in a heightened security posture. The station has increased its vigilance regarding security, implementing protective measures to supplement the existing security program, which currently includes, New York National Guard, New York State Naval
  • Militia, and State Police posted full time on site.

All employees, visitors and supplemental workers are screened and background checked before coming on site. Access to protected areas on site require an X-ray search of all hand carried items, a metal detector screening similar to that in an airport as well as screening for explosive materials. There have no specific threats against Indian Point. These measures are being taken in coordination with law enforcement agencies.

Educational Outreach Entergy Nuclear Northeast provides customized outreach education programs for schools, youth groups, and civic organizations. The topics we cover include Emergency Planning, Understanding Radiation, Nuclear Fuel and a general overview of the operations of Indian Point Energy Center.
