,John whie - IPEC status report for Ju ly 18 2007 Page 2 July 18, 2007 Operational Status Indian Point Unit 2 is operating at 100 percent power and has been online for 49 days. Unit 3 is operating at 100 percent reactor power and has been on line for 77 days.
Siren Project Entergy is continuing the test of the new siren system in the four-county Emergency Planning Zone. There will be a series of "silent" tests in which the siren will receive a signal but will not sound.
Residents near the siren may hear a small pop followed by a noise similar to a microphone keying or a radio tuning.
In addition the silent tests, there will be two full volume soundings-Sat., Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. and another on Tues., Aug. 14 at 6:30 p.m.
Entergy has committed to the NRC to have the system operational by Aug.

Educational Outreach Entergy Nuclear Northeast provides customized outreach education programs for schools, youth groups, and civic organizations. The topics we cover include Emergency Planning, Understanding Radiation, Nuclear Fuel and a. general overview of the operations of Indian Point Energy Center.
