Siren Project Status Update

Reference:

1. Entergy letter (NL-08-121) to NRC; "Notification Regarding Siren Project Milestone," dated August 8, 2008.

Dear Sir or Madam; Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (Entergy) provided in Reference 1, a notification regarding our readiness for placing the new Alert and Notification System (ANS) in service for the Indian Point Energy Center by August 14, 2008, based on receiving FEMA approval by noon EDT on August 12, 2008. Although Entergy has not received FEMA approval at this time, we remain ready to place the system in service within two and one-half business days following approval by FEMA, until August 22, 2008. If FEMA approval occurs after August 22, 2008 we will require eight days in order to refresh our public outreach program.

Entergy will continue to keep you apprised of this situation. If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact Mr. John McCann, Director Nuclear Safety and Licensing at 914-272-3370.
