May 2007.doc ,Page 1 1 Indian Point Energy Center Status Report May 30, 2007 Operational Status Maintenance personnel have repaired the valve seat in a feed regulator valve that prompted a downpower of the unit on Monday. Unit 2 remains in MODE 2 at approximately 1.2 percent power while making preparation to return the unit to service later in the week.
The Feed Regulator Valve is located in the auxiliary feedwater building on the non-nuclear side of the plant. There are four feed regulator valves which supply water to each of the four steam generators in the system.
Indian Point Unit 2 was on-line for 90 days before the shutdown.
Unit 3 is operating at 100 percent reactor power and has been on line for 28 days.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is conducting a Problem Identification and Resolution inspection at Indian Point. The three-week inspection will look at the facility's corrective action program.
