The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted a conference call with Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (Entergy or the applicant) regarding the Pilgrim License Renewal Application (LRA) to discuss information noted by the NRCs Pilgrim Audit Team and to clarify information sent to the NRC in response to requests for additional information (RAI). The conference call was conducted on Monday, September 25, 2006, between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. at 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852. The list of participants is shown in the enclosure. The following is a summary of the call:

The Project Manager for the LRA provided an introduction and said that there were two remaining issues from the staffs previous Generic Aging Lessons Learned audit conducted at the applicant site during May - July, 2006 and that three RAI responses received by the NRC were not considered complete by the staff. These audit related issues were: (i) Inclusion of Relief Requests in Appendix B of the LRA, and (ii) Inclusion of BWRVIP-139 - Vessel &

Internals Project, Steam Dryer Inspection and Flaw Evaluation Guidelines in the LRA List of Commitments. The three RAI issues were: (i) RAI 2.3.3.3 provide correct drawing identification, (ii) RAI 2.3.3.4 provide a drawing that adequately identifies crankcase exhausters, and (iii) RAI 2.3.3.4 provide clarification to Table 2.3.3-4 turbo charger identification. It was decided during the call that a RAI would not be required to resolve these issues.

The applicant had an opportunity to comment on the phone call summary.
