SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE FOR MAY 2003 A. UNIT 2 MONTHLY OPERATING EXPERIENCE

SUMMARY

During this reporting period, Unit 2 experienced degraded Main Condenser performance, which resulted in several power reductions to perform troubleshooting and corrective actions.

On May 10, 2003, at approximately 2100 hours0.0243 days <br />0.583 hours <br />0.00347 weeks <br />7.9905e-4 months <br />, load was reduced to approximately 25 percent electrical output. During this period, the condenser water box was vented to eliminate possible voiding. The Unit was returned to full power operation on May 12, 2003, at approximately 2000 hours0.0231 days <br />0.556 hours <br />0.00331 weeks <br />7.61e-4 months <br />.

On May 23, 2003, at approximately 2300 hours0.0266 days <br />0.639 hours <br />0.0038 weeks <br />8.7515e-4 months <br />, electrical output was decreased to approximately 20 percent to allow cleaning of the water boxes. On May 27, 2003, at approximately 1500 hours0.0174 days <br />0.417 hours <br />0.00248 weeks <br />5.7075e-4 months <br />, the unit was returned to full power.

With the exception of short periods for routine maintenance, surveillances and the above occurrences, Unit 2 operated at full power throughout the remainder of the reporting period.

B. UNIT 3 MONTHLY OPERATING EXPERIENCE

SUMMARY

On May 2, 2003, at approximately 2200 hours0.0255 days <br />0.611 hours <br />0.00364 weeks <br />8.371e-4 months <br />, Unit 3 power was reduced to approximately 52 percent electrical output to perform a control rod pattern adjustment, and control rod scram time testing. Unit 3 was returned to full power on May 5, 2003, at approximately 0700 hours0.0081 days <br />0.194 hours <br />0.00116 weeks <br />2.6635e-4 months <br />.

With the exception of short periods for routine maintenance, surveillances and the above occurrence, Unit 3 operated at full power throughout the remainder of the reporting period.
