SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE FOR JULY 2002 A. UNIT 2 MONTHLY OPERATING EXPERIENCE

SUMMARY

Between July 24 and 25, 2002, Unit 2 reduced power to approximately 710 MWe to repair a leak on the 2B Feedwater pump. With the exception of short periods for routine maintenance and surveillances, Unit 2 operated throughout the remainder of the period at full power B. UNIT 3 MONTHLY OPERATING EXPERIENCE

SUMMARY

On July 15, 2002, Unit 3 was taken off-line due to a failure of the turbine front standard permanent magnet generator. Although the generator was taken off-line, the reactor remained critical. The unit was returned to service on July 16, 2002.

On July 21, 2002, Unit 3 experienced a reactor scram due to a main turbine trip, which resulted from a failure of the turbine shaft main oil pump. Repairs were completed and the unit was returned to service on July 25, 2002.

Between July 26 and 28, 2002, Unit 3 power was reduced to approximately 760 MWe due to a failure on the 3A Circulating Water pump. The pump repair was completed on July 28, 2002. For the remainder of the period, Unit 3 operated at full power except for short periods for routine maintenance, surveillances, or lack of demand.
