2 Unit 1 was manually tripped following a main generator trip while Operations personnel were performing a quarterly simulated oil trip test on the main turbine causing a 100 percent loss of load to the unit. The initiating cause of the event was a closed instrument isolation valve to one of the turbine auto-stop oil pressure switches. The most likely causes of the event were determined to be a failure to properly implement the valve verification process or a failure to maintain proper configuration control. The pressure switch was tested and returned to service. A verification of valve positions was performed, no additional misalignment of valves were identified. Unit 1 remained offline at the end of the month.

Summary: Unit 1 gross maximum dependable capacity factor was 90.6 percent for the month of August.
