SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE FOR OCTOBER 2002 A.

UNIT 2 MONTHLY OPERATING EXPERIENCE

SUMMARY

With the exception of short periods for routine maintenance and surveillances, Unit 2 operated at full power throughout the month of October.

B.

UNIT 3 MONTHLY OPERATING EXPERIENCE

SUMMARY

Unit 3 began the month of October at reduced power due to its end of cycle coast down. Unit 3 began its seventeenth refueling outage on October 08, 2002.

On October 27, 2002, Unit 3 was re-started. Ascension to full power was delayed due to elevated levels of reactor water sulfate and the need to perform maintenance on a feedwater heater. The sulfate concentration decreased to expected levels following system realignment and repairs to the feedwater heater were completed.

Recently, Unit 3 implemented its extended power up-rate (EPU) license amendment, which increased the licensed thermal power to 2957 megawatts.

Currently, Unit 3 is performing testing to support full implementation of the EPU.

Following testing, power ascension will continue.
