Box 529100 Miami, Florida 33152 Gentlemen:

This refers to the Notice of Deviation which was sent to you with our letter dated June 25, 1979, concerning activities authorized by NRC Operating License Nos.

DPR-31 and DPR-41.

This also refers to E. H.

Verdery's telephone conversation of July 13, 1979, with H.

E. Yaeger, Plant Manager.

With regard to this matter, we have reevaluated our position and deter-mined that the apparent deviation with the applications for renewal of two NRC licenses for operators, at the Turkey Point facility did not occur as stated in that the minimum requirements of the NRC's Operator Licensing Branch accepted requalification program were met.

Notwithstanding, we understand that the requalification program will be modified to promptly address operator and senior operator deficiencies that are identified during the annual examination.

This matter is being carried as an un-resolved item and will be reviewed during our next inspection of this area.

Accordingly, the Notice of Deviation is hereby withdrawn and no response is required.

Our records will be corrected to reflect that a

deviation did not occur.

In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice", Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the referenced inspection report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Roo Af,
