DISCUSSION OF SHOREHAM FULL POWER J OPERATING LICENSE In CLI-89-02, issued on March 3, 1989, the Commission terminated all adjudicatory proceedings pending before the NRC in connection with the application of Long Island Lighting Company for an operating license for the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station. The Commission directed the Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation to brief the Commission in a public meeting on the results of his evaluation of the contentions which remained outstanding.
The public meeting called for by the Commission has been scheduled (tentatively) for April 17, 1989 at the Commission's Headquarters in Rockville, Maryland. The Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation will discuss his findings concerning whether an operating license should be granted to the Long Island Lighting Company authorizing the operation of the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station at full power. It is not anticipated that the Commission will vote at this meet g.
