The Conimission has issued the enclosed exemption from certain requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Reaulations (10 CFR) Part 50, Appendix A, General Design Criterion 57,

. egarding the isolation of the main steam branch lines penetrating the containment. This exemption is related to your application dated April 20,1999.

A copy of the Exemption and the supporting Safety Evaluation by the staff are enclosed. The Exemption is being forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
