The on-line examinations are scheduled to be cenducted during 1999. RFO 12 is scheduled to begin on May 8,1999. The scope of the ,
irspection includes the following: l
- 1. Enclosure A provides the post-modification inspection plan for Pilgrim core shroud repair assemblies in response to Section 2.5.2 of NRC Safety Evaluation Report, dated May 12, 1 1995 (TAC NO. M91305). Boston Edisen Company (BECo) is a participant in the BWR Vessel intemals Project (BWRVIP). The Pilgrim-specific core shroud inspection plan was /
developed in accordance with the " Guidelines for Reinspection of RWR Core Shrouds" (BWRVIP-07), EPRI TR-105747, dated February 1996, which addresses NRC SER / j requirements and recommendations. j l
- 2. Enclosure B provides the ultrasonic and visual examination plan for core spray internals (piping and spargers) in accordance with BWRVIP-18 guidelines. On October 15,1998, BECo presented to tla NRC staff Pilgrim-specific techniques fcr the examination of core spray piping weld P-9 and subsequently demonst ated the examination technique at the [!
GE/EPRI facility on February 8,1999, in line with the Pilgrin1 commitment to provide plan for reinspection and repair of core spray piping intemals (TAC NO. M93398 and BECo letter No.97-033, dated March 18,1997). As the examination progresses during RFO 12, the examination findings willl'e repc ted in accordance with Bulletin 80-13.
- 3. Enclosure C provides the ASME Code required examinations that have been scheduled l during the Pilgrim Tnird Ten-Year ISI Program in accordance with the 1989 Edition of )
ASME Section XI for piping and the 1992 edition with 1992 addenda for IWE containment l examinations. The Code required examinations include nondestructive examinations of j l
