I A meeting with representatives of Georgia Power Company (GPC) and personnel

! from the NRC was held at the NRC Region II offices in Atlanta, Georgia on j July 17, 1985. It was the second of a series of quarterly meetings that GPC J and the NRC have agreed to hold to discuss Hatch Unit I and 2 licensing

! activities. GPC discussed a list of submittals related to the forthcoming 4 Hatch Unit i refueling outage (scheduled to begin on November 30,1985). It

pointed out which of these submittals deal with matters that need to be 4

reviewed and approved by the NRC prior to the shutdown and which require

, review and approval prior to startup following the outage. It stated that it

, planned to submit all items required approval by the end of July. GPC stated

, that the outage was scheduled to last 12 weeks. The staff reported the i status of its review of technical specification changes requested by GPC.

j Other items discussed included: a) organization changes being made by GPC

, that relate to Hatch, b a GPC commitment matrix that it uses to track i important work items, c improving GPC/NRC communications, d) anticipation of requirements (e.g. Technical Specifications) related to planned work j activities (e.g. equipment changes), e) problems related to temporary removal i of cable tray supports in order to wrap the cables for fire protection, f)

{ changes GPC is considering in response to the leakage of charcoal filter fire

protection deluge water into the control room, g) cleanup of backlog items.

I It was agreed that the next quarterly meeting will be held in the Bethesda, Maryland NRC offices on Thursday, October 17, 1985 and that the following meeting would be held at the Hatch plant during the Unit 1 outage.
