SUMMARY

, HATCH SAFEGUARDS MATTER A meeting was held in Rockville on June 8,1988, to discuss the status of the Georgia Power Company responses to our letter of August 19, 1987, which forwarded questions regarding the Miscellaneous Amendments and Search Requirements of the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant Physical Security Plan. Attendees are listed in the enclosure.

There have been several letters and telephone conversations between the staff and the licensee since we forwarded our August 19 letter,.but we were having difficulty closing out this matter. The license requested the meeting to clarify the remaining problems and to ensure a clear understanding of the staff requirements. We discussed the oatstanding issues and the proposed method of closure. Based upon the discussions during the meeting, the licensee feels that a final submittal can be made in about three weeks that will complete the GPC response to the August 19, 1987 letter.
