SUMMARY
OF MEETING WITH GEORGIA POWER COMPANY, HATCH UNIT 1 AND 2 A meeting with representatives of Georgia Power Company (GPC) and personnel from the NRC was held at the NRC's offices in Bethesda, Maryland on November 20, 1986. The principal reason for the meeting was to have GPC describe its procedure upgrade project (PUP) as a followup to our brief discussion en the subject during the November 4,1986 Quarterly NRC/GPC meeting on Hatch.
The presentation on the PUP was given by E. J. Towpin of GPC who manages the PUP. There are about 5000 procedures. Of these, about 1500 have been completed up to the validation stage but have not been validated and about 500 have been validated. The enclosed charts used in the presentation graphically describe the elements of the program, its progress to date, and the organization that is involved in accomplishing this task.
It is the goal of this project to complete the upgrade of all procedures by the end of 1987.
In addition to the presentation on the PUP, GPC made presentations describing their Security Training and Emergency Preparedness Program for Hatch. These presentations were given by Morris Howard who manages these activities for GPC.
-The charts used in the presentations by Messrs Towpin and Morris provide a good summary of the information discussed. They are enclosed along with a list of meeting attendees.
