National Laboratory at Upton, Long Island, New York beginning around June 1. The aircraft will be conducting a routine radiological background survey that will take about two weeks to complete. ,

This type of aerial monitoring has been conducted around many

The flights will map the radiation profile of the areas around the two Upton facilities.

The aircraft will fly at altitudes of about 300 feet during daylight hours. Members of the survey team will also collect soil samples to help correlate the aerial data. The actua'l flight schedules for the surveys will depend on weather conditions.
