DOCKET #50 317 CALVERT CLIFIL UNIT 1 January 13,1992 SUMM ARY OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE Dylgmber 1991 The unit began the month at 1007c power (855 MWe).

Power was reduced to %% (800 MWe) at OMX)on December 14 to clean Main Cond. ser waterboxes and test Main Turbine wntrol valves. Power was lowered further to 929c (7N) MWe) from 1500 to 1720 on Decemtwi 15 to inspect Amertap screens. Tbc unit returned to full power (860 MWe) at 2040.

Power was reduced to N)9'o (470 MWe) from WO to 1MO on December 21 to 11ush and leak check 1211 Safety injection Tank (SIT) outlet check valve (St.245).

Following unsuccessful attempts to reduce SI 245 back leakage, the unit was shutdown to make repairs. 'lhe generator was removed from the grid at 23(X)on December 21. The reactor was shutdown at 0025 on the 22nd and the unit was taken to hot shutdown (Mode 4) at 1201. While shutdown,1211 SIT outlet MOV was also repaired alter it failed to open following maintenance on SI-245 (Decemter 25).

Reactor Coolant System heatup comraenced at 1230 on December 28. The reactor was taken critical at 2155 the next day and the generatoi was paralleled to the grid at 0426 on December 30.

Power was held at 29% (200 MWe) until 1350 on the Decem5cr 30 for chemistry. At 1803, N)Tc power (470 MWe) was reached . Continulag problems with sceondary chemistry precluded nising power until 0615 on December 31. Full power (850 MWe) was reached at 1206.

The unit ended the month at 1(kl% power (855 MWe).
