Docket Nos. 50-369 and 50-370 HRC'Dulletin No. 92-01, Snoplement 1 Failure of Thermo-Lag 330 rire Barrier System to Perform its Specific Fire Endurance Function

Dear Sir; ,

A response for McGuire Nuclear Station to. Supplement 1 of NRC Bulletin 92-01 was provided by a letter dated September 30, 1992. In responso to NRC Requested Action 1 of the bulletin, three areas at McGuire were identified which utilized Thermo-Lag-330 as a fire barrier material to protect safe shutdown equipment. A brief description.of the equipment that was being protected within each area was-also identified. For one of the areas (Unit 1 Train "B" Switchgear room), not all of the safe shutdown equipment being protected was identified within the response.

The following identifies the additional safe shutdown equipment within the Unit 1 Train "B" Switchgear room that is being protected by Thermo-Lag 330: the Unit 1A control cable.for the centrifugal charging pump, the Unit 1A control cable for the motor driven auxiliary feedwater pump, the' _

Unit 1A control cable for the nuclear service water' pump, and the train "A" pressurizer heater power cable.

Tho above discussion supplements the safe shutdown equipment that was identified within our September 30, 1992 response.-  ;

Please contact Paul Guill at (704).875-4002, if you-have any '

questions regarding this issue.
