McGuire Nuclear Station Docket Nos. 50-369, 370 Meeting Regarding Soluble Boron and Boraflex On January 27, 1999, the NRC met with McGuire representatives to discuss information related to a proposed license amendment to take credit for soluble boron and partial credit for boraflex in the spent fuel pools at McGuire.
The meeting was scheduled at McGuire's request to present the staff with the general analytical approach and provide an opportunity.for staff-questions.
McGuire plans to use existing chemistry analyses to measure boron and perform in-situ testing on a three year frequency to quantify boraflex degradation.
The purpose of this letter is to revise the expected submittal date of the proposed license amendment presented in the subject meeting to be consistent with M.
S.
Tuckman's December 31, 1998 response to Generic Letter 96-04, "Boraflex Degradation in Spent Fuel Storage Racks."
McGuire plans to submit-the proposed license amendment in the first quarter of 1999.
