SUMMARY

OF THE MAY 2, 2018, CATEGORY 1, PUBLIC TELECONFERENCE TO DISCUSS NUSCALE POWER LLCS RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 9335 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a Category 1 public teleconference on May 2, 2018, to discuss the NuScale Power, LLC (NuScale) response to the Request for Additional Information (RAI) 9335. Participants included personnel from NuScale. One member of the general public participated via bridgeline during the meeting.

The public meeting notice dated May 2, 2018, can be found in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management Systems (ADAMS) under Accession No. ML18107A007.

This meeting notice was also posted on the NRC public website.

Enclosed is the meeting agenda (Enclosure 1) and list of participants (Enclosure 2).

Overview:

The purpose of this teleconference was for the NRC staff to discuss technical issues that need to be resolved associated with the response to RAI 9335 (05.02.01.01 - Compliance with the Codes and Standards Rule, Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Section 50.55a).

The NRC staff also provided editorial comments on selected steam generator passages in Chapter 5 of the design control document (DCD).

NuScale agreed to supplement the response to RAI 9335, Question 05.02.01.01-7, which would provide a markup to the DCD indicating that Quality Group A, B, and C components meet the applicable conditions promulgated in 10 CFR 50.55a(b).
