PALO VERDE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION UNIT 1 SPECIAL REPORT INOPERABILITY OP CONTAINMENT AREA RADIATION MONITORS Docket No.STN 50-528 License No.NPP-34 This Special Report is required by Technical Specifications Table 3.3-6, ACTION 27-2 and Specification 6.9.2.On April 24, 1985't 1350, the 72 hour8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br /> ACTION statement for Operability of Containment Area Radiation Monitors RU-148 and RU-149 was exceeded.These detectors, and associated cables, had been removed for a total manufacturer's rework.This was necessary because of the failure of the qualification testing that was required by the original purchase order.A Justification for Interim Operation (JIO)had been submitted by the Licensee, and approved by the NRC, as stated on Page 3-7 of Supplement 7 to the Licensee's SER.As indicated in the Supplement, these detectors will be installed and meet full qualifications by July 31, 1985.Interim operation has been defined in letter ANPP-31297-EEVB/MWH/WFQ dated, December 3, 1984.
