SUMMARY
- DISCUSSION OF PLANNED CONSOLIDATION OF QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) PROGRAMS (TAC NOS. MC0732, MC0733, MC0734, MC0735, MC0736, AND MC0737)
On September 24, 2003, a public meeting was held between the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and the representatives of Virginia Electric and Power Company and Dominion Nuclear Connecticut, Inc., at NRC Headquarters, in Rockville, MD. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the plans for a consolidated QA Program for Surry Power Station, North Anna Power Station, and Millstone Power Station.
The licensees generally discussed the changes they plan to make to transition to a QA program that applies to all Dominion nuclear facilities. The licensees stated that the new program will be based on the NQA-1-1994 standard, and that it will apply to independent spent fuel storage facilities and any new acquisition or new construction.
The licensees plan to submit the program for NRC staff review in the near future.
A list of meeting attendees is included as Attachment 1. Attachment 2 contains a copy of the Quality Assurance Program Description handout presented at the meeting.
