Enclosure 1 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Public Meeting Summary

Title:

Discussion between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Dominion Energy regarding the North Anna Subsequent License Renewal Application an inconsistency in documentation regarding Reactor Coolant Pump Code Case N 481, TLAA 4.7.6 Date of Meeting: August 27, 2021, 9:30 am - 10:30 am Location:

Webinar Type of Meeting: This was a closed meeting as it contained trade secrets and commercial or financial information (proprietary information).

Purpose of the Meeting(s):

To understand how Dominion Energy will address a documentation inconsistency regarding Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) Code Case N 481, TLAA 4.7.6 identified by the staff.

General Details:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed meeting with Dominion Energy and their NSSS Vendor (Westinghouse) to discuss an apparent inconsistency in a Westinghouse technical document used to develop the North Anna Power Station Subsequent License Renewal Application (SLRA), Section 4.7.6, RCP Code Case N-481. The meeting started at 9:30 am and ended at 9:45 am. Four NRC staff, three Dominion Energy staff, and four Westinghouse staff were in attendance.

Summary of Meeting:

Inconsistency in documentation regarding RCP Code Case N-481, TLAA 4.7.6 Dominion Energy began the meeting by displaying draft talking points to the staffs draft request for additional information (RAI). Westinghouse staff presented two proposed revisions to WCAP-18503-P Revision 1, Resolution of North Anna Power Station Units 1 & 2 Time-Limited Aging Analyses for Subsequent License Renewal, July 2020, to provide additional justification to address the documentation inconsistency.

Dominion Energy and their contractor, Westinghouse, will update WCAP-18503-P to eliminate the existing inconsistency, which will address the Staffs concern.

Therefore, the staff will not issue the draft RAI and no update to the SLRA is needed.

Public Participation Themes:

The meeting was closed due to the proprietary nature of the information discussed. No members of the public were in attendance.

Action Items/Next Steps:

The NRC staff will prepare and issue a meeting summary.
