PLANT SHUTDOWN (OVER 48 HOURS) l-The licensee plans to shut down the reactor about 8:00 p.m., January 27, to repair a leaking expansion bellows on a feedwater heater extraction steam line. The outage is expected to last about one week. The leak, which is not visible since it is inside thi main condenser, was diagnosed about two weeks ago, and has been under licensee evaluation since that time. A shutdown had been previously contemplated January 17 but was deferred.
Region I was notified of licensee's plans for sh"tdown about 2:00 p.m., January 27.
The licensee is issuing a press release. The C:. monwealth of Pennsylvania has been informed. This preliminary notification is issued for information only. The resident insp ctors will follow outage activities.
