_acy bmian -it-'.u siatus report Tor uec. ..December 7, 2006 Operational Status Unit 2 is operating at 100% and has been on-line for 7 days. Unit 3 is operating at 100% reactor power and has been on-line for 139 days.Groundwater Investigation Project Update* Entergy, the NRC, and New York State Dec are conducting split samples on a number of off-site wells. These wells have been used by the U. S. Geological Survey to determine background levels* The last river front well, MW-61, has been drilled and is being developed for sampling* As part of the investigation of structures and systems on site, the team has examined old, retired drain lines from Unit 1. These old systems may be connected to some of the positive sample results we have received* The first test results have been obtained from one of the riverfront wells, MW-63. The results show very low levels of activity for tritium and no detectable activity for Stronitum-90, but do show low levels of Cesium-1 37 at 27 pCi/L. This value is well below the reference level for drinking water for Cesium, which is 200 pCi/L. Further testing will be needed to confirm this result. Entergy expects sample results in the next couple of weeks from wells located near MW-63.* The dye tracer tests, which are designed to help characterize flow direction and velocity near the Unit 1 and Unit 2 pools, will begin in early January.Educational Outreach Entergy Nuclear Northeast provides customized outreach education programs for schools, youth groups, and civic organizations.

_acy bmian - it-'.u siatus report Tor uec. .. rayefl December 7, 2006 Operational Status Unit 2 is operating at 100% and has been on-line for 7 days. Unit 3 is operating at 100% reactor power and has been on-line for 139 days.

Groundwater Investigation Project Update

  • Entergy, the NRC, and New York State Dec are conducting split samples on a number of off-site wells. These wells have been used by the U. S. Geological Survey to determine background levels
  • The last river front well, MW-61, has been drilled and is being developed for sampling
  • As part of the investigation of structures and systems on site, the team has examined old, retired drain lines from Unit 1. These old systems may be connected to some of the positive sample results we have received
  • The first test results have been obtained from one of the riverfront wells, MW-63. The results show very low levels of activity for tritium and no detectable activity for Stronitum-90, but do show low levels of Cesium-1 37 at 27 pCi/L. This value is well below the reference level for drinking water for Cesium, which is 200 pCi/L. Further testing will be needed to confirm this result. Entergy expects sample results in the next couple of weeks from wells located near MW-63.
  • The dye tracer tests, which are designed to help characterize flow direction and velocity near the Unit 1 and Unit 2 pools, will begin in early January.
