Request for Changes to the MURR Requalification Program The University of Missouri Research Reactor submits the attached revised Requalification Program                        ,
for NRC review and approval. We request that this program replace the current program which                              i was approved April 26,1978.
The main changes to the program are as follows:
: 1. References to NRC regulations have been updated.
: 2. The sections of the written biennial exam have been modified to be similar to NRC initial                          I exams and use the content guidance provided in NUREG-1478, Rev.1, Non-Power Reactor                                ;
Operator Licensing Examination Standards.                                                                          I
: 3. The biennial written exam will now have a second separate' exam prepared for the person /
persons who develop and review the primary written exam.
: 4. A new section providing documentation for active operator status was added to the program.
This regulatory requirement is currently met by administrative procedure.
: 5. An annual operating test and evaluation has been added to the program using the geneml guidance of NUREG-1478, Rev.1, for operating tests. The current program requirements for Periodic Observation and Evaluation (Section 2.3) are used to meet the regulatory requirements for an annual operating test.
: 6. The records retention section has been revised to reflect the retention of requalification records for the duration of each operator's license (> 6 years). These records are currently retained for that period to meet regulation.
