The University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) has applied for a unique purpose exemption pursuant to 10CFR50.64(c)(1)in a letter dated September 26,1986. This J
application, plus additional supporting information is currently under review by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Since this review process is ongoing, the MURR is complying with 10CFR50.64(c)(2)(ii) by submitting a copy of the Department of Energy letbr to MURR, dated S
January 20,1999, notifying the licensee that federal funds for conversion of our reactor will not be available during Fiscal Year 1999.
This submittal and attachment constitutes MURR's response for Fiscal Year 1999. The MURR will respond again prior to March 27,2000 as per 10CFR50.64(c)(2), unless a determination is made by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission that our facility should be granted a unique purpose exemption.
