Irdyu e-" I August 14, 2006 Operational Status Indian Point Unit 2 is operating at 100% power and has been on line 88 days. Indian Point Unit 3 is also at 100% reactor power and has been on line 24 days.
Storm Drain Inspection Entergy has been conducting a cleaning and inspection of the storm drain systems on site as part of the groundwater investigation project. The picture at right shows the high resolution video robot that has been used to identify the condition of the storm drains and any potential areas requiring repair.
Indian Point Security Indian Point Energy Center remains in a heightened security posture. The station has increased its vigilance regarding security, implementing protective measures to supplement the existing security program, which currently includes, New York National Guard, New York State Naval Militia, and State Police posted full time on site.
All employees, visitors and supplemental workers are screened and background checked before coming on site. Access to protected areas on site require an X-ray search of all hand carried items, a metal detector screening similar to that in an airport as well as screening for explosive materials. There have no specific threats against Indian Point. These measures are being taken in coordination with law enforcement agencies.
