Grand Gulf Nuclear Station File 0270/15525/15526 Potential Reportable Deficiency No.79/04 - Interim Report No. 3 AECM-79/126 On February 23, 1979, Mississippi Power & Light Company notified Mr. W. B. Kenna of your office of a potential reportable deficiency at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station construction site. The deficiency. concerns inadequate crimping in certain Power Generation Control Complex (PGCC) in-terconnecting cable pen connections supplied by the General Electric Company.

G. E. has issued the following Field Disposition Instructions:

1. FDI-WAGM, Rev. 0; calls for 100% inspection of termination modules for damaged wire insulation.

2. FDI-WAGM, Rev. 2; calls. for 100% inspection of G. E.-supplied PGCC cables and repair where required. .

Inspection and repair work is presently being done on equipment at the site. We expect to ' submit the results of this activity to you in a final report by January 30, 1979. ,
