acy~min -II-tut status report iur UULuuUi OU r clyu e-r~e October 30, 2006 Operational Status IP2 is currently at 100% reactor power; the unit has been on line for 68 days and Unit 3 is operating at 100% reactor power and has been on-line for 101 days.

Groundwater Investigation Indian Point conducting remediation pilot test The groundwater investigation team is conducting a pump test to determine if a recov labeled RW-1, which is located in the Unit 2*l~ *'* lan be used to hydraulically prevent the migration ater around the Unit 2 11 he test is also designed to test the feasibility of pumping groundwater from the area near IP2.

The test is being conducted in two phases: a 1-day and 3-day test. Each

,pump test will extract water from Recovery Well-1 under controlled conditions. The results of the test will determine whether that technique can be used to arrest the spread of tritium. The data derived from the RW-1 Pump Test will be used to help formulate a long term groundwater remediation plan.

No samples or drilling have been conducted in the 2 weeks prior to test to minimize any interference with the test.
