SUMMARY

OF PUBLIC MEETING On May 2 5, 2017, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Staff conducted a public meeting at the Holiday Inn in Manahawkin, N.J. The purpose was to discuss the agency's assessment of the safety performance at Oyster Creek.

A notice of the public meeting was issued on May 10, 2017, and was posted on the NRC's external (public) webpage. The meeting notice can be found in the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS), Accession No.

The NRC Staff discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Oyster Creek for the period of January 1 through December 31, 201 6, as documented in our letter dated March 1 , 201 7 (ADAMS Accession No. ML17058A001

). As part of the meeting, the NRC responded to questions from members of the public. Additional information relative to the NRC's Annual Assessment Process and the safety performance of Oyster Creek can be found on the NRC's website at www.http://www.nrc.gov/reactors/operating/oversight.html Members of the public, state officials, and a member of the media attended the meeting and were offered the opportunity to question the NRC regarding Oyster Creek's performance and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations
