SUMMARY
LICENSEE: EXELON GENERATION COMPANY, LLC FACILITY: OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION
SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF PUBLIC MEETING On March 28, 2012, at 5:00 PM (EST), the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a public open-house at the Holiday Inn in Manahawkin, NJ. The NRC conducted the open-house to discuss its assessment of the safety performance at Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station for 2011.
A notice of the open-house was issued on March 12, 2012, and was posted on the NRCs external (public) Web page. The meeting notice can be found in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) with Accession No. 12072A260.
ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web page at: http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
The NRC presented poster boards, slides, and informational handouts, and was available to discuss its assessment of the safety performance of Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2011, as documented in our letter dated March 5, 2012, (ADAMS Accession No. 12061A254). The NRC also included background information on the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP). Additional information relative to the NRC's Annual Assessment Process and the safety performance of Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station can be found on the NRC's web site at:

Members of the public, local officials, staff on behalf of State officials, and members of the media attended the open-house and were offered the opportunity to question the NRC regarding Exelons performance and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
