Dear Ms. Craig:

The purpose of this letter is to re-issue the Westinghouse Report Titled " Wolf Creek Incomplete Rod Insertion During Cycle 8, Interim Report on Inspection Results and Root Cause, Revision 1, dated January 1997" which reflects the changes discussed and agreed to with Westinghouse and the NRC.

As noted in Reference (1) you reiterated that Westinghouse authorized public disclosure (Ref. 2) of the information that the NRC previous identified as non-proprietary (Ref. 3 and Ref. 4) with a noted exception (Ref. I and 5) relative to this report. Additionally, you agreed that the information identified in the attachments to Reference 1 and 5 as being proprietary will remain proprietary and will not be disclosed to the public. As such, you requested that Westinghouse re-submit the Report with the " agreed to" changes along with a request to withdraw the March 1996 Report submittal since ~
